Professional Experience

Irma is a Staff Accountant in RP&B’s Accounting & Auditing department, bringing experience in both audit and tax along with a strong background in leadership, professional development, and community service.

Irma earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, San Bernardino in 2023, followed by her Master of Science in Accountancy in 2025. While completing her graduate studies, she participated in CSUSB’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, starting as a tax preparer before advancing to a tax reviewer. She was also actively involved with Beta Alpha Psi, serving as chapter president in 2025 and overseeing responsibilities including chapter operations, budgeting, and communications.

In 2025, Irma began her professional accounting career through internships in both tax and audit. As an audit intern, she assisted with internal control testing, workpaper preparation, and forensic audit projects. Her tax internship provided additional exposure to tax preparation and compliance.

Her commitment to the accounting profession extends beyond her day-to-day work. Irma has served as a student representative for the CalCPA Inland Empire Chapter since 2025, volunteering at local events and helping facilitate educational opportunities, including CPA exam workshops. As a CPA candidate herself, she plans to continue working toward licensure as she advances in her career.

Prior to entering public accounting, Irma developed extensive leadership, administrative, and client service experience through volunteer work, most notably with the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society. Throughout her time with the organization, she served in roles including Chair of Volunteers, caseworker, trainer, and recruiter. She also helped educate service members on financial topics such as budgeting and tax filing.

Irma was drawn to RP&B by the firm’s collaborative environment and emphasis on professional development. She values the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and projects while continuing to expand her technical knowledge. Her interest in accounting stems naturally from her enjoyment of puzzles, investigative work, and problem-solving.
